All Natural Soap and Candle Company Launched at UW is Thriving
Besa Gordon checked in from the South Lake Union Saturday Market to showcase Nature's Elements, a soap and candle company from Seattle and the University of Washington's Foster School of Business. Ny’il Damis-Salaam says that making healthy, natural products is a passion and he’s grateful to be able to share them with the community.
All of their soaps are cold-pressed and soy and coconut based, and mixed in all-natural essential oils to give them their signature scents and qualities. Nature’s Elements was started in the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business in the Creating a Company Program funded by the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship, and has been up and running for just over three years.
“My childhood friend brought me on board, and I’ve been loving it,” Salaam said.
The company also works with UW design students to create their product art work and packaging as part of their legacy with the school. You can check out their work in the video. If you can’t make it to the SLU Market, you can also order their soaps and candles at natureselements.com
