Appollonia Washington of A 4 Apple Learning Center joins The Day With Trae

Co-Owner of A 4 Apple Learning Center Appollonia Washington joined Trae Holiday on #TheDayWithTrae to talk about the work the center is doing and their upcoming give-back event. The center focuses on early education, and creating developmentally-appropriate programs for children in the community.

“We serve the community from toddler age up until grown-ups,” Washington said. “We just want to make sure that we’re being a resource to the community and make sure people know that they have that resource.”

One thing Washington is doing is bringing Kaleidoscope Play to the community. This play group has been active in Seattle for many years, and now will be hosted at A 4 Apple. The 90 minute sessions include games, enrichment, and educational content for children and famlies getting ready for what Washington calls “the big school.”

“We’ll be providing basics for families to get acquainted and make sure that they’re supported and strengthened,” Washington said.

Washington and Holiday also talked about A 4 Apple’s upcoming give back event on January 21st from 12 - 2 pm, where they’ll be running a new coat giveaway as well as partnering with organizations to provide diapers, new hats, hygiene kits, dry food boxes, snack packs and more.

“I partnered with a bunch of our community partners,” Washington said. “It’s important to me that the younger people in the community see us come together and that we support one another.”
