Community Unity: How Panther Lake Elementary and BEC are Shaping the Future

#BlackEqualityCoalition - Recently, Converge Media producer Curtis Delgardo II and Central District’s very own recording artist, Mafi D, teamed up with the Black Equality Coalition and students from Panther Lake Elementary to create an anthem for the 4th and 5th grade Unstoppable Coaching Program. This powerful partnership highlights the incredible impact of community and shared purpose.

The Unstoppable Coaching Program, now in its second year at Panther Lake Elementary, has reached 60 students from 3rd to 5th grade. Together, they've crafted invaluable experiences and lessons, instilling hope and optimism for the future. Through activities like Career Days with industry leaders, Career Exploration Fairs, Art Therapy, and Healing Circles, the program is shaping young minds for success.

The Black Equality Coalition (BEC) is dedicated to uplifting and supporting underserved Black and BIPOC youth and families. Mafi D’s involvement is particularly special, as he connects with students on a deep level, sharing similar backgrounds and experiences. His story of overcoming adversity serves as a living testament to these young students, making a profound impact that resonates through their newfound anthem.

In this video, you'll hear from BEC founders Anthony Curtis and L’Taai Mathews, along with students and faculty, as they share the story of the Black Equality Coalition and its transformative influence on the community and education system.
