Last night, Seattle's District 2 residents gathered at the Columbia City Theater for a town hall to meet the six candidates vying to replace Tammy Morales, who vacated the seat earlier this month. The event, organized by Rainier Avenue Radio and the Seattle City Club, was standing room only, demonstrating the community's strong interest in this important decision.

Tony B, who moderated the event, was impressed with the turnout. "District Two showed up en masse... That's impressive." He emphasized the importance of community engagement and the value of events like this one. "The organizations that put. this together were committed to our community to ensure we were informed, which was incredibly successful."

During the town hall, community members had the opportunity to ask questions submitted to the candidates: Hong Chhuor, Adonis E. Ducksworth, Thaddaeus J. Gregory, Edward C. Lin, Chukundi Salisbury, and Mark A. Solomon. The candidates fielded questions on a range of issues, from transportation to economic development.

Tony B expressed his appreciation for the community's involvement but also noted the challenges of organizing such an event on short notice. "They (City Council) only gave us five days to put this together and no resources”

Despite the challenges, the event was a success, giving District 2 residents a chance to hear from the candidates and make informed decisions about their representation.
