Converge Media Returns to Jackson, Mississippi for Reconciliation Tour II

One year following an impactful and memorable trip to the South, Converge Media has returned to Mississippi alongside Baseball Beyond Borders for a second year. This year, we’re excited to dive further into the stories of the youth in the city, showcasing what makes their community special as well as the impact of baseball. We’re also excited to document the legacy of the first Reconciliation Tour, and what has occurred within the past year.

“Our return to Jackson is our commitment to the youth and families. We are excited to share our love and passion for the sport,” Baseball Beyond Borders Founder and CEO Bookie Gates said. “We will continue to build community by elevating our promise to ensure the community is seen and heard through play.”

Embedded with the program is the returning crew from Obsidian Creative Studios. Led by award-winning filmmaker Winfield Ezell Jr., the crew has worked on numerous Converge projects including the first Reconciliation Tour and the upcoming film Sankofa Impact.

“We are looking forward to returning to Jackson and peeling back another layer of this story, taking a deeper look into the impact of Baseball Beyond Borders and what it means to the kids of the Jackson community,” Ezell said.

This year, the film will focus more on the residents of Jackson and the ways they’ve dealt with the issues their facing daily while showcasing the benefits organized sports can provide.

To realize the full value that Baseball Beyond Borders brings to these young people, we must understand the challenges and the issues that they face in Jackson on a daily basis,” Ezell said. “That’s the story we are telling this time.”

Our crew is currently in Jackson, and you can follow along as we document the journey.
