#ConvergeTakeover - We’re heading to McCaw Hall on December 1st

Join the Converge Media family as we take over Seattle’s historic McCaw Hall for a very special morning of shows. We’ll be kicking things off with The Rewind With Besa, followed by a special edition of We Live In Color with Deaunte Damper. These shows will feature members of the Pacific Northwest Ballet and a special look into their current performance, The Nutcracker.

“This has been a really dope year for me. I’ve been doing things I never thought were possible until after they happened and this Thursday will be no different,” Besa Gordon said. “Not only will I be interviewing the beautiful Destiny Wimpye but I’ll be doing it at the legendary McCaw Hall. It’s a wild life I’m living out here as a Black woman in Seattle and I’m happy I’m able to authentically be myself and still be seen.”

Gordon will be joined by Wimpye and Ginabel Peterson as they discuss their time in the ballet and as artists in Seattle and beyond. Gordon hopes the show serves as an inspiration.

“I hope my interviews remind all of the little Black girls that being a Black ballerina is possible because [Destiny] is doing it and so is Amanda Morgan and more,” Gordon said.

Deaunte is equally as excited. He will be joined by Associate Artistic Director Kiyon Ross to talk about his career as a dancer and a choreographer.

“I’m so excited for a special edition of We Live In Color this week. Kiyon Ross has been making amazing moves, and I can’t wait to learn more about his story and how he lives in color,” Damper said.

December 1st is also World AIDS Day, an occasion not lost on Damper. He tapped Rosette Royale of the AIDS memorial project to join him and talk about the meaning of the day.

“Who better to have a conversation with than a storyteller like Rosette Royale. Rosette has done a great job with the AIDS memorial project and bringing stories from the Black community to live,” Damper said. “You don’t want to miss this episode.”

Tune in live on Thursday, November 1st at 11 am as Deaunte and Besa come to you from one of Seattle’s most storied venues.
