Deaunte Damper Brings Focus On Mental Health To The Day With Trae As Special Guest Host
This week on The Day With Trae has seen guest host Deaunte Damper bring a new energy to the show. Featuring guests like Pastor Leslie Braxton, Dré Franklin, Malik Banks and Michelle McClendon, Damper has brought his signature style to the airwaves as he shares important information.
Friday will feature an episode of The Day With Trae with Miss Chevonna Gaylor and Mike Kevin, as they will dive into the importance of mental health in Black and Brown communities.
“I’m so excited about Friday’s episode knowing that statistically, Black and Brown folks are less likely to seek help. Miss Gaylor and Mike are two important people that the community needs to hear from,” Damper said. “Miss Gaylor especially has a really special message for our community organizers who may suffer from burn out that I think that everyone will want to hear.”
Damper said that bringing the focus on mental health to the show hits close to home, and is a conversation he wants to continue past this week.
“In the African American community, we've been taught to tough it out, hide our suffering, but this is something none of us have ever experienced, and no one should suffer in silence,” Damper said.”
Damper also recently returned to the Converge Media Network with his own show, We Live In Color, which airs on Thursday nights. The show provides a platform for members of the LGBTQ+ community to share their experiences and host important discussions.
“I’m so glad to be able to share my experiences and talk to so many amazing people. I hope that everyone who tunes into both The Day With Trae this week and We Live In Color takes away something valuable,” Damper said.
Make sure to tune into The Day With Trae every weekday from 11-11:30 am and We Live In Color every Thursday at 8 pm.
