Deaunte Damper Spotlights Seattle's Summer Meals Program on Good Day Seattle

Deaunte Damper, filling in for Besa Gordon on Good Day Seattle as she continues to focus on her health, joined Erin Mayovsky to shed light on the city's Summer Meals Program. Damper, a Seattle native, expressed his deep appreciation for the initiative, stating, "I'm just in awe of the work that the Human Services Department is doing right now to prioritize our youth under 18 and ensure they have access to food during the summer months."

A video segment showcased the Summer Food Service Program at Jefferson Park, where program representatives emphasized the importance of providing free meals to children without any stigma. Damper echoed this sentiment, adding, "What a program! No cost, just food, fun, and resources. I'm so grateful for the city's efforts."

Erin commended Damper for his dedication to covering impactful stories, highlighting the significance of programs that alleviate food insecurity concerns for parents and children. As Damper's time on Good Day Seattle comes to a close, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity and the support of the Converge Media team, stating, "This experience has been everything. I'm so grateful for the team at Converge, our directors, and everyone at FOX. It feels like home."

He also shared his excitement for Trae Holiday, who will be taking over hosting duties on Back2Besa starting next week. Viewers can catch Back2Besa on weekends on FOX 13 Saturdays at 10:30 pm and Fox 13 + Sundays at 10 am.
