Discovering the Towers of Tomorrow at MOHAI: A Journey Through LEGO Mastery

Have you heard of Towers of Tomorrow? Besa Gordon, host of Back2Besa takes us on a behind-the-scenes look at the traveling LEGO exhibit which can be experienced at MOHAI (Museum of History and Industry) until September 22nd. Towers of Tomorrow is a LEGO exhibit filled with LEGO skyscrapers from North America, Asia, and Australia, all crafted in intricate detail by Ryan McNaught, one of only 21 LEGO Certified Professionals in the world. While at MOHAI, Besa caught up with MOHAI’s Chief of Exhibits and Interpretive Services  Devorah Romanek.

Towers of Tomorrow features replicas of famous skyscrapers like the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore, Chrysler Building in New York, the CN Tower in Toronto, the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and many more. According to Devorah Romanek states, some of the buildings featured in the exhibit “were once the tallest buildings in the world”. From the legendary Empire State Building to the ultra-sleek Burj Khalifa, each building is a piece of art created through LEGO.

Visiting Towers of Tomorrow feels like taking a world tour of architectural wonders, “I need to travel more, and what’s also so cool about this is that you’re able to see buildings that you may have never seen before in person, and it’s all being done through LEGO!” said Besa Gordon.

When you visit the Towers of Tomorrow exhibit, you’re also able to build your own LEGO masterpiece with over 200,000 loose LEGO bricks available in hands-on construction areas around the exhibit.

If you’re around the Seattle area, don’t miss out on this chance to see LEGO artistry at its absolute finest. To learn more about Towers of Tomorrow, visit mohai.org/exhibits.
