Girls on the Rise 2022 is Here

Girls on the Rise is Recruiting Participants for the 2022 Cohort. The Upcoming Project Will Focus on the Art of Storytelling

Girls on the Rise is on a mission to support the progress of women and girls across our state and the globe. Our work creates an equitable world where Girls on the Rise participants are bold, fearless, and confident in their skills of leadership, professional development, and self-efficacy to achieve their highest goals and aspirations.

Girls on the Rise is now accepting applications for participation in 2022. Specifically, we are looking for applicants aged 11-18 for the 2022 Girls on the Rise project! Applicants must apply before March 27, 2022. The program starts April 4, 2022.

The 2022 cohort will release a film, Girls on the Rise- a Global Movement. This documentary tells the stories of women and girls and our many passions. We will learn the personal stories of Girls on the Rise members and others across the nation. Students will personally interview participants and share their stories. Our girls will have two community projects which will be Increasing Pathways to Leadership for Women and Girls and addressing Human Trafficking. Every girl is paid a stipend for their participation in the program.

We are recruiting 20% of our 2022 cohort participants from countries in Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. This will help the girls build global relationships and think about issues that impact girls globally.

This is a multigenerational opportunity for young women to learn and to teach others through their work. Girls will learn from the generation ahead of them, and create a network of knowledgeable, confident women leaders. Our hope for every girl is to discover new skills and learn to leverage their unique talents in future endeavors. Through self-discovery, she will be her highest and most vibrant self. She will exemplify leadership, self-efficacy, community service, and stand in solidarity with like-minded men and women to achieve her highest goals and aspirations.

”I am grateful to our partners for helping us provide life skills to young ladies at a crucial time of their life as they are going through puberty. Last year our girls provided leadership to global issues like trafficking, coronavirus, and vaccines - all while building community, personal confidence, and meeting women leaders across the state to learn more about leadership competencies.” -KD Hall
