Hadestown: Morgan Siobhan Green and Nicholas Barasch

Morgan Siobhan Green and Nicholas Barasch play Eurydice and Orpheus in Hadestown, but their on-stage chemistry is a product of a deeper bond.

“We definitely embody our characters a lot,” Barasch said. Both he and Green say their off-stage presence mimics what viewers see during the show, adding an air of authenticity to this stunning production.

Barasch started acting when he was just nine years old. He was, “driven and ambitious”, pushing his parents to put him in community theater and eventually landing an agent.

“It wasn’t the plan. My parents thought I would just try it out and move on,” Barasch said. “Now I’m an old hag at it.”

Green was initially a volleyball player in high school, but quickly decided sports weren’t for her. Her school, though, had a good theater program and Green decided to give it a shot.

“I decided to go try it, and I never really left,” Green said. The first play she ever did was Winnie The Pooh, where she played baby Rue.

Now, as a theater veteran, Green has experience touring and acting in major productions. Still, she says, she’s learning.

“I’m learning self-care, and it’s a lot of socialization,” Green said. “There’s a danger to isolating yourself, but you also have to heal yourself. A show like this requires so much of your heart.”

Barasch said the show is an experience for the viewer which will take you through both the real and the surreal, and that especially during his love story with Green it is very grounded and relatable.

“In the end, they do have this cosmic, deep love and it gets them through a lot,” Barasch said.

Hadestown begins its run at the Paramount Theatre on July 12th and concludes on the 17th. You can purchase tickets here
