The multi-talented Latrice Williams has not only built one of Spokane's fastest growing Real Estate companies, but she’s also a talented musician, the legislative lead for housing and homeless advocacy for District 4, and an author. Her journey, though, hasn’t been easy. As a formerly incarcerated Black woman, Williams fought her way into the world of corporate real estate firms before realizing it wasn’t for her. She said she felt overlooked and knew that she needed a change.

“I felt like I was being pushed back and blocked, or just not being seen,” Williams said. “Instead of me staying in that culture, I just built my own.”

Through her company, Williams Homegirl Sells, Williams hopes to provide opportunities and offer guidance for those looking to get into real estate and grow themselves and their career. She also writes books on how those looking to sell their homes can capitalize on their investments.

“Especially for People of Color, we need to focus on creating generational wealth,” Williams said.

When she was incarcerated, Williams said she met individuals who didn’t want to go home because they felt they had lost too much. Williams hopes to create restorative programs through her business that provide housing and jobs to individuals recently released from incarceration.

“It brings me almost to tears. If you’re so comfortable on the inside that you’re scared to come home, that’s a problem,” Williams said. “A lot of restorative practices stop after they help someone find a job - they don’t continue to provide support.”
