Shon Barnes has a 24-year career in law enforcement, including leadership roles in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Chicago, Illinois. He holds a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU), as well as a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati, and a BA in History/Pre-Law from Elizabeth City State University, another esteemed HBCU. Barnes has also served as a subject matter expert for the U.S. Department of Justice and has been recognized for his work in evidence-based policing.
