Molly Moon's Unveils Besa Gordon's Vegan Cookies and Cream Ice Cream for Women’s History Month

At Converge Media, we celebrate voices that uplift our community. This Women's History Month, we are proud of Besa Gordon and the honor bestowed upon her by Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream! Since 2019, Molly Moon's has recognized women who make our communities safer, more equitable, and welcoming. This year, they have four honorees, each with a special ice cream flavor!

2025's Inspiring Honorees:

  • Besa Gordon, Media Personality and Host: Besa Gordon, host of Back2Besa on FOX 13 Seattle and nationally on FOX SOUL, is celebrated for her work in uplifting Black stories across the Pacific Northwest. Her show highlights local restaurants, changemakers, and community foundations. Besa collaborated with Molly Moon's to create a Vegan Cookies & Cream ice cream, a deeply personal representation of her health journey. Besa wanted to craft a vegan treat that she could enjoy without worrying about her eczema. Nine months ago, Besa took a leave from her show because her eczema and topical steroid withdrawal had become severe. During her 10 weeks off air, Besa embarked on a healing journey. One of her first steps was to overhaul her diet, including giving up dairy. "It was so important for me to be represented with a vegan flavor," Besa shared. "This isn't just about ice cream; it's about honoring my journey to health and wellness and showing others that deliciousness can also be kind to your body." This plant-based take on a classic favorite features organic coconut milk and sugar churned until smooth, and then a vegan chocolate cookie crumble is folded in, made with organic cocoa powder and vanilla extract. This flavor represents Besa's dedication to inclusivity, her personal journey, and her love for treats.

  • Betti Fujikado, Community Builder: Betti Fujikado, in Seattle's business and mentorship scene, is also being honored! As the co-founder of Copacino + Fujikado, Success Cohorts, and Our Stories Are Your Stories, Betti has made an impact. Her Japanese American heritage inspired her Black Sesame Red Bean ice cream, a blend of cultural flavors.

  • Jaelynn Scott, Executive Director: Jaelynn Scott, the leader of the Lavender Rights Project, is a champion for Black trans liberation and intersectional justice. Molly Moon's created a Peach Cobbler ice cream in her honor, a nod to her Southern roots. It's a comforting flavor that reflects her passion for justice.

  • Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, Executive Director/CEO & Co-Founder: Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, the force behind MomsRising, is an advocate for moms and families. Her dynamic personality shines through in her Ghost Chili Chocolate ice cream, a mix of chocolate and spicy chilies. It encapsulates her dedication to her cause.

Besa Gordon: A Light in the Pacific Northwest

We at Converge Media are especially thrilled to see Besa Gordon recognized. Her work on Back2Besa has been bringing Black stories to the forefront in Seattle and across the Pacific Northwest. Her dedication to uplifting our community is unwavering, and we're proud of how she's using her platform to make a difference. This vegan ice cream is more than just a treat; it's a symbol of her journey, her strength, and her commitment to wellness.
