Pure Black Girl Magic at this year’s NW EMMY Celebration

What a night! On June 3rd, Converge Media headed down to this year's Emmy celebration as our film "Reconciliation Tour" was nominated. And although we didn't win, it was still truly an honor to be in the room with so many broadcast legends such as Joyce Taylor, Roberta Romero, Michael Driver, and my fellow Queen of Converge, Trea Holiday!

This year, we also wanted to also invite some women leading the charge around the city to join us at our table, such as, Mele Miller, (NASM-CPT and CEO & Founder of RiteSize Consulting LLC, Financial Equity Strategist and Behavioral Change Specialist,) Marie T. Kidhe (FWS Community Relations Strategic & Investments Director and Community Engagement & Event Strategist & Owner of RieImagine Solutions LLC, and Community Relations and Strategic Investments Director,) Lyannjanel (LJ) Lugo, (Service Desk Administrator, Seattle Kraken,) and Alicia Crank (Executive Director/Seattle CityClub, and Seattle Sports Commissioner.) These women are incredibly talented and do amazing things daily that impact the city and even our youth. From Mele's work with UNCF, to LJ's work with the Kraken and Alicia's work with the Seattle City Club plus the Seattle Sports Commission and more.

It was truly amazing to be at a table with so many powerful women. And although some of them met for the first time on Saturday. You would’ve thought they’ve known each other for a lifetime. The bonding that was created, the new connections that were made were absolutely priceless.

Until next year's EMMY's, check out some photos from this past Saturday below that were taken by Seattle photographer Brit (@badbritbrit on IG)
