Sync Seattle Mixers Build Community, Connect Black Business Owners

You know how much Back2Besa Host Besa Gordon loves mixers, so you know she had to check out the monthly Sync Seattle Mixer which takes place every third Thursday at Still Liquor. Dedicated to creating space for Seattle’s Black community and highlighting Black businesses and non-profits, Sync Seattle is all about bringing together social connections.

“If you’re looking for something to do, you can come to Sync Seattle,” Co-Founder Tanise Love said. “We’re all about community building.”

Our Back2Besa crew headed to the mixer during the annual costume party to tap in with the scene and hear about what’s been building.

“We turn up and have fun, but it’s all intentional,” Tanise Love said. “Our whole goal is to make sure that you know what’s actually happening in Seattle.”

Tanise Love said that the most important thing people can do is come as they are. Whether someone is sad, happy, looking for love or business connections, Love said that they can find a space at Sync Seattle.

“We want to come and connect you to community,” Tanise Love said.

“Really we want this to be your home away from home,” Co-Founder Derrick Love said. “When you leave home, we want you to feel like you’re coming to meet your people and that you’re amongst family.”

Derrick Love said that his goal is to make people feel valued, celebrated, and loved.

“We have this platform that matters to us, and we want people to feel like they matter,” Derrick Love said.
