Take A Trip Around El Salvador With Cesar Canizales

As part of #Back2Besa’s Hispanic Heritage Month feature during the month of September, producer Cesar Canizales traveled to El Salvador to show us the people and culture of his home country. While there, he visited numerous sites including the archeological ruins of the Pipil people, the volcano of Santa Ana, and even shows us a national favorite food - the Pupusa.

“It’s basically the national dish of El Salvador. It’s really delicious stuff,” Canizales said.

He also delved into the natural geography of the country, which created its beautiful lakes, mountain ranges, and hot springs.

“The magma still flows under the lake to heat them,” Canizales said. “The volcanoes are part of the Ring of Fire, which also includes Mount Rainier.”

You can take a trip around El Salvador with Cesar in the video, and make sure to tune into Back2Besa every week at 10:30 pm on Saturday on FOX 13 and stream the replay Sunday at 10 am on FOX 13 + for more great stories like this.
