The Re-Sole 206 Opens First Retail Location Bringing Sneaker Care to the Central District
Converge Queens connected at Takiyah “TDUB” Ward’s soft opening of her brand new Re-Sole retail shop on E Union street as Trae Holiday joined her to speak about the milestone. The shop specializes in custom sneaker painting, dry-cleaning, and more and has become known as one of the top sneaker care shops in Seattle.
“Re-Sole 206 is Seattle’s first dry cleaner for sneakers,” Ward said. “We provide services like cleaning, restoring, and customizing. If you need care for your shoes, we’re the ones to do it.”
For Ward, having the shop create an open and welcoming environment for individuals to come in and either get their shoes restored or design a custom pair is crucial to her mission.
“It’s about expression. It’s about being able get your ideas and emotions on paper, on a shoe, on canvas,” Ward said. “That’s what I want the Re-Sole to be for the community.”
The shop also features the Vivid Matter Collective sneaker gallery, which features sneakers designed by a variety of artists from the Re-Sole Skill Shop Ward hosted over the summer.
“It’s really inspiring to be in this space,” Holiday said.
At the new location in the Central District, Takiyah will be able to serve a broader range of customers and have a flagship location for her business. You can learn more at theresole206.com and visit the shop when they have their hard launch at 2301 E Union St Suite M.
