World-renowned Tenor Ken Gayle Preforms at Seattle’s Plymouth Church
Seattle native Ken Gayle returned to the Emerald City for a special afternoon at Plymouth Church in Seattle. The world-famous tenor brought his powerful voice to the the community, singing in a public performance at the church.
Gayle was also featured on The Day With Trae last Friday, saying how excited he was to be back home.
Raised in a musical family, Gayle said he was raised taking piano lessons.
“My mom likes to tell a story about me singing before I could speak,” Gayle said. “She says I didn’t speak until I was one and a half or two, but I started making these noises and singing before that.”
An alumni of the Northwest Boys Choir, Gayle says the Pacific Northwest left an indelible mark on his musical career. During his time at the University of Washington, he began singing again. It was there that he discovered his calling. Following school, he joined the Seattle Opera.
“I had the opportunity to continue my education, and sing with a bunch of remarkable groups,” Gayle said.
The performance provided a full-circle moment for Gayle, as he returned to his hometown to showcase his talents once again.
