Raised in Shorewood just south of Seattle, Patrick Riefflin claimed his first guitar at age nine and knew instantly they would never part ways. Playing his favorite music became life; “Pre-guitar Patrick” seemed only a distant memory. At age 10 Pat played Eric Clapton’s Tears in Heaven for a friend’s going away party and Nirvana won the school’s talent show. When he was 13 his talent offering was a tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Clearly, Pat’s destiny was set. He absorbed music from the Marley men, classic rocker Stevie Ray Vaughn and the generational music of Kurt Cobain and Eminem. In his late teens Pat studied guitar at the Institute ofMusic in Los Angeles, where his primary professor declared him “naturally and profoundly gifted” and warned him not to let it turn his head. Pat’s lyrics prove that his head is definitely on straight even while he composes eclectic songs that bend the brain and move the body. According to Pat, “It’s all about living a lifetime of passion, practice and persistence. I got an incredible break as a kid–I discovered why I was here and I had family and friends who supported me. I want to share that – wake people up and remind them of who they are and what they are here to do.” Pat toured with Snoop Dogg and Warren G and has performed at some impressive West Coast venues including Hollywood’s House of Blues, Roxy Theatre and Viper Room, to The Wiltern, the Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City, and Cal State Dominguez Hills.
