Besa Gordon Treats Good Day Seattle to Her Vegan Molly Moon’s Cookies and Cream Ice Cream

This week, Besa Gordon stopped by Good Day Seattle to talk about something extra sweet—her very own Vegan Cookies & Cream ice cream flavor, created in collaboration with Molly Moon’s Ice Cream. In honor of Women’s History Month, Molly Moon’s selected four women making an impact in their communities to craft a signature flavor, and Gordon was among those chosen. The opportunity was both a surprise and an honor, making this week’s segment even more special.

A Flavor with Purpose

For her flavor, Besa Gordon chose Vegan Cookies & Cream, a rich and creamy twist on a classic favorite. The decision was deeply personal—Gordon has openly shared her struggles with eczema and Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW), both of which have made her more mindful of ingredients that trigger flare-ups. Dairy is one of those triggers, which meant that when crafting her flavor, a vegan option was a must.

“A lot of vegan ice creams are either really experimental or just sorbets,” Gordon explained during her interview. “But I wanted something creamy, something familiar—something that doesn’t feel like a compromise.”

Her Vegan Cookies & Cream delivers just that: a dairy-free, gluten-free treat that maintains the richness and indulgence of traditional ice cream, making it a perfect choice for those with dietary restrictions or anyone looking for a delicious alternative.

The Good Day Seattle Taste Test

During her segment, Gordon didn’t come empty-handed. She brought samples of her flavor for host Erin Mayovsky, who was immediately impressed by how creamy and flavorful it was.

“You can’t even tell it’s vegan,” Mayovsky said as she took a bite, agreeing that the texture and taste were just as satisfying as traditional ice cream.

Molly Moon’s even took it a step further by adding vegan chocolate toppers, ensuring that every scoop had the full experience of a classic cookies & cream, but without any dairy.

Ice Cream That Gives Back

Beyond the flavor itself, Gordon’s collaboration with Molly Moon’s also has a philanthropic impact. A portion of the proceeds from her Vegan Cookies & Cream sales will benefit the Black Heritage Society of Washington State, an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing Black history and culture in Washington.

Each of the four women involved in the campaign selected a different nonprofit, making the project about more than just ice cream—it’s about community empowerment.

The Other Women & Their Flavors

While Gordon might be a little biased in believing her flavor is the best, she acknowledged that the other women in the campaign came up with some incredible creations as well, including:

Molly Moon's is also honoring Betti Fujikado with a Black Sesame Red Bean flavor, Jaelynn Scott with a nostalgic Peach Cobbler, and Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner with a daring Ghost Chili Chocolate. Talk about a flavor adventure!

“If I had to pick a second favorite, that Peach Cobbler would be it,” Gordon admitted with a laugh.

Available for a Limited Time!

Besa Gordon’s Vegan Cookies & Cream is only available for a limited time at Molly Moon’s Ice Cream, so those eager to try it should act fast! Whether vegan or not, this creamy, dairy-free delight proves that plant-based treats can be just as rich and satisfying as their traditional counterparts.

Seattle residents can visit their nearest Molly Moon’s location to grab a scoop (or a pint!) while supporting a great cause.

Gordon’s visit to Good Day Seattle was a reminder of why she continues to make an impact—not just in media, but in the community as well.

For those who try her flavor, she encourages them to share their experience and tag her on social media. “I want to see those taste tests!” she said.
