Black-Owned Business Blitz: A Culinary Journey from Seattle to Portland

Get ready for a mouthwatering episode of Back2Besa this weekend, hosted by the vibrant Besa Gordon! This time, she's taking you on a culinary adventure south down I-5, shining a spotlight on the region's incredible Black-owned food scene.

First, we'll head to Seattle's Central District to celebrate the grand reopening of Marjorie, a beloved Jamaican restaurant with a menu that's bursting with flavor. Then, it's off to the South End for some soul-satisfying BBQ at Lil Red's, a family-owned spot that's become a community staple. Next, we'll indulge in the ultimate comfort food experience at Classic Eats in Burien, where Chef Tony Hayes serves up generous portions of Southern hospitality.

Our journey continues with a coffee break at Campfire Coffee in Tacoma, where Quincy and Whitney Henry are roasting up a storm with their unique wood-fired technique. From there, it's all about seafood as we head to Lakewood's Hot Fish House for a taste of their famous turkey legs and other Southern delights. Then, we'll make a stop in Lacey to savor the "South in your mouth" flavors of Beau Legs Fish and Chips, a family-owned gem that's been serving the community for over 15 years.

Finally, we'll cross the border into Portland to raise a glass with former NBA star Channing Frye at Chosen Family Wines. Learn about his inspiring journey from the basketball court to the vineyard and his commitment to inclusivity in the wine industry.
