James Beard Award nominee Chef Kristi Brown of COMMUNION and That Brown Girl Cooks! launches Lil' Brown Girl, a new quick-service restaurant at Métier Brewing Company's Cherry Street Taproom.

SEATTLE, Washington – October 11, 2024 – Lil' Brown Girl will open its doors at Métier Brewing Company's (MBC) Cherry Street taproom in Seattle's Central District on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. The quick-service restaurant concept will pair MBC award-winning brews with That Brown Girl Cooks! (TBGC!) and COMMUNION menu favorites, creating an inviting atmosphere where community and flavor converge.

Lil' Brown Girl proudly offers beloved recipes from That Brown Girl Cooks! and COMMUNION, celebrated for its dedication to authentic flavors and culinary narratives, embracing Seattle's rich melting pot. The menu features a variety of dishes crafted with care and inspired by family traditions and the neighborhoods surrounding the Central District. Every bite pays homage to the community's vibrant history and heritage, from a golden and juicy chicken sandwich to TBGC!'s infamous black-eyed pea hummus. The menu items are curated to pair with MBC's brews, including fan favorites like the Kölsch and Horizon IPA. Lil' Brown Girl is the first quick-service restaurant concept from the mother-and-son duo, providing FOOD THATS GOOD TO EAT.

The grand opening celebration, which will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on October 16, 2024, at MBC Cherry St (2616 E Cherry St, Seattle, WA 98122), will feature Lil' Brown Girl food specials, a pairing flight of MBC core and seasonal brews, live music, and remarks from Chef Kristi Brown of COMMUNION and Rodney Hines of Metier Brewing Co. Lil' Brown Girl's operating hours are 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday - Friday, 1:00 - 8:00 pm on Saturday, and 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Sunday. MBC Cherry St's operating hours are 3:00 - 9:00 pm Tuesday - Friday, 12:00 - 9:00 pm on Saturday, and 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Sunday.

About Chef Kristi

Chef Kristi Brown, a James Beard Nominee, has dedicated over three decades to the culinary industry. She began her career at a café in downtown Seattle and later graduated from the Seattle Culinary Academy. In the mid-1990s, she established That Brown Girl Cooks Catering, where she became known for her distinctive culinary style and exceptional service, particularly her renowned hummus. Her philosophy, "Everybody Gotta Eat," inspired her to co-found a community kitchen, earning widespread acclaim. In 2020, Chef Kristi and her son, who is also her business partner, launched COMMUNION R&B, a highly acclaimed restaurant in the Central District, receiving recognition from the James Beard Foundation, Conde Naste, USA Today, New York Times, and Seattle Met.
