The music industry is one of the hardest hit due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. In an effort to support independent black and brown music artists and the industry that supports them, Converge Media is partnering with music nonprofit, BiG BLDG for their Grounded Live Music Performance Streaming Series.

BiG BLDG is a Seattle-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization, dedicated to supporting local artists and musicians by providing the local northwest arts-community a platform to grow through live performances, music releases, and merchandising support. Currently, BiG BLDG’s Grounded Series offers the only local non-profit model where musicians can earn and keep money generated from livestream performances.

“Converge Media has long been known for doing what we can with what we have. Right now, what we have is a dynamic partnership with Big Bldg that will allow for artists impacted by COVID-19 to once again perform in an amazing venue and drive revenues while at the same time bring some entertainment, comfort, and sense of normalcy to their fans who miss them.” Converge Media Founder Omari Salisbury said of the partnership.

For our inaugural stream on November 5th 2020, Converge Media and BiG BLDG will host Seattle artist Goody Bagg, a self-described “all purpose band” blending Jazz, R&B, Latin, hip hop, and old school soul, as well as Portland based rapper, producer,  and music icon Cool Nutz with interview segments conducted by Converge Media’s founder Omari Salisbury.
