Converge screens latest short film Finding Go at Alaska Airlines headquarters
Converge Media’s latest short film Finding Go: The Legacy of Adé Hogue honors the life of Broderick Adé Hogue, a groundbreaking designer and inspirational artist. It follows his journey from a quiet kid in Asheville, North Carolina to becoming one of the most acclaimed hand-letterers of our generation in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to his tragic death last year, Adé completed numerous projects including the lettering on the side of Alaska Airlines’ Our Commitment aircraft. It was through this project that Hogue made his way onto Converge’s radar, and through that we were able to feel the passion and innovation so present in his work and life.
On Thursday, Converge Media was invited by Alaska Airlines Air Group Black Employees (ABEA) to screen Finding Go at the Alaska HQ in Seattle. ABEA members were a critical part of the push to create Alaska’s Our Commitment Aircraft. The screening was attended by ABEA members at the headquarters as well as Alaska employees around the country on a livestream.
“Finding Go was about so much more than the artwork of Adé Hogue. It was the beautifully told story around how he approached his life, the joy he brought to his family and how he affected the people around him,” Sarah Keimig, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist at Alaska Airlines, said. “I found this documentary to be about finding and accepting your purpose and trusting that the path in front of you will lead you precisely where you need to be. I will remember this documentary, his story, whenever I feel unsure. It was very inspiring and motivating and I’m grateful for the chance to get to know the person Adé was.”
“Converge perfectly captured Adé’s charm, talent and passion, and I only hope that the film will encourage others to chase their talents and dreams – much like Adé did throughout his life. We are lucky to have played a very small role in the creation of this film,” Cailee Olson, Alaska’s Media Relations Manager, said.
The event also brought the Queens of Converge together with some of the ABEA members for the first time. Many of you might remember that it was our very own Queens who were part of Alaska’s inaugural flight from Seattle to Belize City, Belize.
We would like to thank ABEA members for their support of the film and gracious hospitality.
