Deaunte Damper Shines on Good Day Seattle, Filling in for Besa Gordon

Watch: Deaunte Damper's appearance on Good Day Seattle.

Converge Media's own Deaunte Damper, host of "We Live in Color," stepped in for Besa Gordon on FOX 13 Seattle's Good Day Seattle with Erin Mayovsky yesterday. Gordon is currently taking time off to address some health concerns, and Damper will be hosting her show until Gordon returns.

Damper, a natural on set, discussed his show "We Live in Color," which amplifies the voices of Black LGBTQ community members. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to shed light on the experiences and perspectives of this often underrepresented group.

The conversation also touched on Damper's recent recognition as one of Seattle's top 50 LGBTQ changemakers by the Seattle Times. He dedicated this honor to the memory of community members lost to the Fentanyl crisis and ongoing struggles against homophobia and transphobia.

Damper also gave viewers a sneak peek into this weekend's episode of Back2Besa, which will feature highlights from a Juneteenth celebration at the Well Gallery.

Good Day Seattle host Erin Mayovsky and the entire FOX 13 team were incredibly welcoming to Damper. His appearance was a testament to his talent and the important work he's doing in the community.  We wish Besa Gordon a speedy recovery and look forward to her return, but in the meantime, we're thrilled to see Deaunte Damper shine in her place.

You can catch Deaunte and Erin every Thursday at 8:15 am on Good Day Seattle, and make sure to catch Deaunte as he hosts a new episode of Back2Besa this Saturday at 10:30pm on FOX 13 Seattle and Sunday at 10:30am on FOX 13+ or free nationwide on the FOX Local App.
