House Call: Dr. Sidney Nelson joins the Rewind With Besa bringing health news and tips to community

Dr. Sidney Nelson will be joining the Rewind With Besa as a recurring guest. Dr. Nelson is a board certified internal medicine doctor who practices primary care medicine. He will bring health news and tips to the show, providing expertise which will bring an exciting new perspective to Converge Media programming.

“My big thing is getting on a platform where I can reach more people and get them educated,” Dr. Nelson said. “I'm really big on health care prevention. So preventive medicine, making sure that you get all the screening measures that are age appropriate.”

A Seattle native, Dr. Nelson graduated from Garfield High School and the University of Washington, as well as the Howard University College of Medicine. Now living in Maryland, he’s excited to be able to connect with the community he still calls home and spread health awareness.

“This is a great opportunity to just spread the word to the community and have someone that looks like most people that follow Converge and is from Seattle sharing health knowledge,” Dr. Nelson said.

He brings a new presence to Besa’s show, increasing awareness of health in relevant ways. Things like heat-stroke, hypertension and monkey-pox will all be discussed.

“Stay on top of your health,” Dr. Nelson said. “I always tell people, prevention is all about decreasing the risk, decreasing the chances that that disease advances in your body.”
