PHOTOS: Seattle Rapper Gifted Gab Releases New Music Video

Seattle Rapper Gifted Gab released the music video for her new song ‘Real Assist’ and to celebrate we have behind the scenes photos from her music video shoot. Gab has been on the scene for years and is quickly getting recognized as one of Seattle’s top up and coming artists.

“This video means so much to me - I really want people to be able to watch and tell very quickly that I’m from Seattle,” Gab said.

For Gab, the video process didn’t go quite as she had planned. When her initial director fell through, fellow Seattle singer and songwriter Taliwoah stepped up to support her friend.

“I had no idea she even had that skillset,” Gab said. “It was pretty crazy to realize that my friend who is an amazing musician could also create something like this.”

Gab said the shoot itself took place on a rainy day, which she was initially worried about but ended up embracing in the final product.

“Everyone has their Seattle rain gear on and it’s dope,” Gab said. “This is a love letter to Seattle.”

The song also features fellow Seattle artist Swisher Sleep, who Gab is a major supporter of. She said adding him to the video as well was a no-brainer and she’s excited for more people to discover his music.

Converge Media also played a role, sending photographer Jordan Somers to capture behind-the-scenes photos which you can see below.

“Jordan killed it. These really are some of my favorite photos I’ve had taken of myself in a while,” Gab said.

You can watch the video below and go stream the album wherever you get your music.
