Holistic Coalition Partners On Wellness Day To Bring Resources To The Community

Last weekend, Holistic Coalition NW teamed up with the YMCA and Marvin Thomas Memorial to host a wellness day at Rainier Community Center which brought people together to experience the joy that comes from communal healing. Trae Holiday, the host of The Day With Trae, was there to check out the event and hear from those present why health and wellness is so important.

“It was so beautiful to see all of the amazing folks doing jewelry and sea moss and clothing, there was so many different things there,” Holiday said. “I’m glad we were on the scene to capture everything that was going down.”

Event organizer Wendy Armour said that listening to community and providing necessary resources is a critical piece of creating healthy and sustainable society.

“We need these resources and we need spaces where we can be,” Armour said. “We also know that we don’t necessarily go to the doctor, so if we can bring things like vaccines to the community it would be so much better.”

She was impressed by the community turn out, and said the feedback she heard was positive.

“We put the call out and people showed up,” Armour said.

There were also food trucks outside the fair providing free food for people who showed up.

“That was an amazing thing,” Armour said. “We wanted to welcome everybody to come.”

Armour says they are planning on doing the event again next spring, so be on the lookout for information on that.

The event featured vendors, food trucks, exercise and fitness workshops and more. Make sure to tune into The Day With Trae every weekday at 11 am on all Converge Media platforms.
