Hood Famous Bakeshop is a Center of Filipino Cuisine in Seattle

Hood Famous in Seattle is a cafe, bakery and bar on the rise - literally. They bake their own Filipino-inspired pastries, breads and more every day at their 5th ave S shop, serving the community with unique and delicious items. Founder and Co-Owner Chera Amlag said that the shop started ten years ago as a pop-up on Beacon Hill, and now has become a thriving hub of cuisine in Seattle’s Chinatown International District.

“We’re heavily known for our desserts,” Amlag said. “If you want something different you come here. We want this to be a community space where you can get a cup of coffee, something to eat and gather here.”

Today at our All-Star Waterfront Takeover, Seattle Sports Commission President and CEO Beth Knox joined the set to discuss the Green Path, an initiative put together by the SSC to highlight local businesses for people to visit near T-Mobile Park and the surrounding areas. We featured Hood Famous on broadcast, showcasing what visitors and locals alike can expect.

“We get tons of fans in here being so close to T-Mobile Park,” Amlag said. “We love it. We’re also a bar so they can come have a drink after the game.“

You can find out more about Hood Famous on their Instagram page @hoodfamousbakeshop and visit the shop at 504 5th Ave S. STE 107A, Seattle, WA.
