MLK Day Real Seattle Media Mixer at MoPOP Recap And Photos

Let's see who reads all of this lol. What's wild is when I started my Seattle Media Mixers in 2018, I didn't know what they would lead to or if people would even care to come. It began as a random idea that popped up in my head. I hit Trey Jordan to see what he thought about it, and he said, "let's do it!" So, Trey let me hold my first mixer during one of his nights at Amber Lounge. When I tell you, I was SHOCKED to see how many people pulled up for a mixer with a panel on podcasting. Mind you. I was the only one on the panel LOL. But, even though it was only me, the feedback was overwhelming (in a good way, that is.) I had no clue people were looking for a place to network and learn, especially with people that looked like them. So I kept doing them and changed the panel topic each month. Over the years, I've held panels on podcasting, social media ads, TikTok, Instagram, marketing, how to gain sponsorships, creating pitch decks, and, most recently, branding.

The 2023 kick off for the Real Seattle Media Mixers was nothing less than exceptional; I had it at MoPOP, annnnnd it was on MLK Day. It was truly something special about seeing all that melanin at MoPOP on a Monday night. And did I mention they kept the Contact High and Jimmy Hendrix exhibits open for everyone to check out? Twas a shmood!

The panel featured my sis Kinsey Paul who I teamed up with to put on the mixer (she also did my makeup and styled me ☺️) The panel also featured sports brand manager Key Frager and Loures Jackson, a very well-respected painter (artist) in and out of this state. During the discussion, each panelist advised on branding, gaining brand deals, and marketing yourself/your business in new cities. They even answered audience questions at the end. If you missed the panel or want to see it again, you're in luck! Converge Media filmed the panel discussion, so you'll be able to watch it again very soon.

Until then, I want to give a shoutout to our mixer partners, MoPOP and the entire MoPOP team, for partnering on the event, Friends of Waterfront Seattle, who has been a sponsor of the mixers since May, the Elite Collevive and Smile Patrol who had you all living your best lives with their 360 booth, Converge Media who not only did the edits on this super dope mixer recap that Fransico shot, BUT they also brought out the whole team to do interviews with the attendees and record the panel.

Lastly, I want to thank everyone who came out to the "MLK Day Real Seattle Media Mixer" and not only networked but jumped on the mic to ask questions to the panel, made reels of the mixer, the brave souls who got on the mic to introduce themselves, so people knew you were in the room, and to everyone that talked with Curtis to give your feedback on the mixer. You all made this night one to remember.

In June, Kinsey and I have something reeaallllyyyy special planned, so stay tuned for more details on that.

What panel topics do you want to see in the future? Also, if you see yourself in the video, let me know so I can tag you!
