Welcome Home: Nate Jackson brings his comedy talents to Converge

When Nate Jackson took the stage on a dare at the Eastern Washington University student comedy competition, he didn’t know it would be the start of a life-long passion which he would parlay into a successful career. Jackson was studying Aeronautical Engineering, and initially had thoughts of going into insurance or home financing. The change, though, wasn’t as drastic as you might think.

“I'm reverse engineering emotion,” Jackson said. “I'm taking an idea and saying it in a way and structure that is causing emotion. The artistry of standup is so pure. I mean, it's just a person with a microphone.”

Always an outgoing person, Jackson immediately took to the art form. He started performing shows and now owns Nate Jackson’s Super Funny Comedy Club in Tacoma. He also has multiple credits, including appearing on MTV’s Wildn’Out and as Junk Yard Dog on NBC’s The Young Rock.

Now, Jackson enters a new partnership with Converge. His flagship show, Nate Jackson Daily, will join the Converge Media Network in addition to Jackson’s own platforms. The show features a comedic look at current events.

“The whole point is to go for the humor,” Jackson said. “I have some pretty interesting insights, some ideas that it gets to the point where people go ‘I want Nate’s take on it’.”

Nate’s takes are full of insight and entertainment value, and he’s excited to reach the Converge audience.

“I’m looking to amplify the audience and to bring some laughter to the community,” Jackson said. “There’s a lot of cool stuff going on at Converge.”
