New short film Craven Family Reunion highlights the impact of Black Mining Families in Roslyn, Washington

Converge Media’s latest shot film, The Craven Family Reunion, is out now. The annual reunion in Roslyn, Washington celebrates the legacy of one of the first Black coal mining families in the area.

Hear from family members and Stephanie Johnson-Toliver of the The Black Heritage Society of Washington State about the history of the Black community in Roslyn and the surrounding towns and the contributions Black families made to the area. Black miners were cornerstones of the economy in the region, and their history and legacy stands as strong as ever.
