PHOTOS: Black Equity Ball 2025: Celebrating Black Homeownership in Style

This past Saturday, Young Black Homeowners hosted their 3rd Annual Black Equity Ball at the Four Points by Sheraton, bringing together a stunning display of Black excellence. Aspiring and current Black homeowners showed up dressed to impress for an evening filled with inspiration, celebration, and community.

The night was hosted by Back2Besa’s own Besa Gordon of Converge Media, with live music from ParisAlexa, curated vibes by DJ Ddoxx, and a red carpet experience complete with a magazine-style photo booth. Guests also engaged in a powerful panel discussion featuring Michelle Merriweather (CEO of Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle), Gregory Whiting (Director of Equity and Inclusion at Food Lifeline), Anzhane Slaughter (CEO of Young Black Homeowners), and moderated by Keisha Credit.

The evening also honored impactful leaders during an awards ceremony, where Rep. Jamila Taylor (30th Legislative District) received the John Lewis: Good Trouble Award, and Dawn Bennett (Executive Director of the African American Leadership Forum) was presented with the Harriet Tubman Award.

It was a night dedicated to uplifting Black homeownership and recognizing those making a difference.
