PHOTOS: DeAunte Damper Gives Call to Action at Seattle Pride 50

Seattle Pride's 50th anniversary was a vibrant tapestry of joy, reflection, and activism, captured beautifully through the lens Henry Wei. This milestone event, held at Westlake and Fourth, drew a diverse crowd eager to celebrate five decades of progress in LGBTQIA+ rights.

The festivities were a testament to the power of community and the ongoing fight for equality. Attendees shared their personal journeys, emphasizing the importance of visibility, representation, and allyship. DeAunte Damper, host of Converge Media’s We Live In Color and guest host for Back2Besa, was also in attendance as he led the call to action on behalf of Vocal Washington:

“What an honor to be asked to do the call to action for the 50th anniversary of Seattle Pride it was such an honor representing VOCAL - Washington with my director Malika Lamont and vocal members

There was no better feeling to represent our organization and remind everyone to continue to advocate for community members that are still being impacted by homelessness, mass incarceration, and the war drugs.” - Said DeAunte Damper
