The outpouring of support for the family of D’Vonne Pickett Jr. continued on Saturday at Climate Pledge Arena. With his family present, the Kraken honored Pickett as a community hero. The team also announced that jerseys from the game will be auctioned off to support the community.
“D’Vonne was a community builder and so as we honor his life, we want to continue his legacy. Therefore, the jerseys worn by both teams’ player tonight will be signed and auctioned off to benefit Community Passageways, Build 206 and the CD Panthers, the youth football team that D’Vonne coached. This is an incredible gesture by the Penguins who will give us the jerseys of Rust, Carter, Jarry, Crosby, Letang and Malkin. All Kraken players’ jerseys will be available to bid on. More details will be available here during the game,” the Kraken said in an email.
