Ten years after the Seattle City Council unanimously designated the second Monday in October Indigenous Peoples’ Day in 2014, hundreds of people marched from King Street Station to Westlake Park. Indigenous Peoples Day became an official city holiday in 2022. The march and rally were part of a full day of celebrations, which included an event at Pier 62, Waterfront Park, in the morning, followed by the march from King Street Station, concluding with a dance and dinner at Daybreak Star and another dinner celebration at Washington Hall.
