By Besa Gordon - Guess what!, it’s Saturday, which means an all new episode of Back2Besa drops on FOX 13 Seattle and FOX 13 + this weekend. This week, we’re diving into powerful collaborations, Black leadership, and some mouthwatering flavors, so let’s get into it!

We’re running back the story behind the Together Candle, a beautiful collab between Noir Lux Candle Bar, The Postman, and artist Jessie Lipscomb. These three Black women came together to create a candle designed to bring people together, and trust me, it’s a whole vibe.

Next, we’re kicking off our new series, Profiles in Black Leadership, with an in-depth convo with Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and key members of his cabinet at Marjorie Restaurant. We’re talking civil rights, immigrant communities, and the challenges of leadership—all from the perspective of those shaping our city.By

I also took a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island for the Celebrating Black Voices: One Day Film Festival at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Not only did I get to see my film Facing the Reign on the big screen, but I also explored the stunning Radiant Reflections art exhibit and met Elmer Dixon, one of the Seattle Black Panther Party founding members.

And last but definitely not least, I’m stepping into the kitchen with Chef Trey Lamont at Jerk Shack Kitchen! As he shows me how to make jerk lamb chops with his new Queen Bee hot honey.

As usual, it’s a packed show tonight, so grab your snacks because you’re going to need them!
