Recap and Photos: July 2022 Real Seattle Media Mixer
I must say. These Mixers are getting better and better every month 🥳 For July’s panel, I wanted to make sure people knew how to reach out to brands, how to ask for what you want in the deal, and how to make sure you don’t fumble your own bag by not having a proper contract in place.
Hoooowwwever, I didn’t want just ANYONE giving you all this information, so I hit up The Vida Agency (@vidaagency) which is who Converge Media (@wwconverge) works with to get contracts for some of their advertisers. The amount of information and free game that was given out by Amalia and Janine was truly epic, and I'm sorry to anyone who missed 😩
The reason I started these mixers is because I truly felt that people who look like me in the media industry, or even just influencers sometimes don't have the right information on how to properly promote themselves on social media, how to properly use the algorithm to their best advantage, or even how to reach out to brands. So I wanted to put something together where we can have people like the Vida Agency come in and give us some top-notch information on how to make sure that we’re really living our best lives out here and getting paid for it.
Now, although we didn't record this month's panel, we do plan on recording them in the future. In the meantime, the Vida agency was gracious enough to create a PDF for everyone who did a RSVP for this month's mixer. In your PDF you’ll have dos and don’ts along with best practices for reaching out to brands. So if you did RSVP stay on the lookout for that email 💌
Until next month's #RealSeattleMediaMixer I want to thank Friends of Waterfront Seattle (@friendsofwaterfrontseattle), for sponsoring this month's media mixer. And I also want to thank my partner in crime Lady Coco (@djladycoco) for keeping the music vibes on point per usual.
