Rise Above celebrates Native American and First Nations night at the UW Volleyball Game

Converge Media joined Rise Above to help celebrate Native American and First Nations night at the UW Volleyball game. Reporter Bel Garcia spoke with Lenny Wilkens, Bill Krueger, Michael and Emoni Bush, Jaci McCormack and more as they celebrated the impact of Rise Above on youth sports and the Native American community.

It was an inspirational night as multiple individuals and organizations were honored. Rise Above CEO Jaci McCormack spoke about the meaning of the occasion.

“This is a special event for the kids to be able to see Emoni, and get to see the representation,” McCormack said. “They get to see her play and see the university and see more spaces for them to be able to dream big dreams.”

Bush herself was grateful for the opportunity to inspire the next generation.

“My whole goal with playing volleyball was to give back to the youth,” Emoni Bush said. “They are the future of our world and we can’t do it without them.”
