Seattle Kraken Host Black Hockey History Night

The Kraken hosted Black Hockey History Night on Saturday and our Besa Gordon was there to get the full hockey experience for her first game.

Follow along with her as she and Seattle CityClub Executive Director Alicia Crank journey through the arena, partaking in the various pre game festivities, link up with Circling Seattle Sports writer Charles Hamaker, and hang out with the voice of the Kraken Everett Fitzhugh. They also made their way to the Space Needle Sky Lounge where Gordon got a gift bag and met up with the Kraken’s Vice President of Government Relations Eric Pettigrew.

The night featured music from the Black Tones, a special Hero of the Deep segment with Marshawn Lynch and Coach Lenny Wilkens, as well as special warmup journeys designed by Skyway artist Ari G.

“I wanted to emphasize two main things - the mountain and the sun,” Ari G said. “The sun is what unites us all as people and rises us up, and the mountain is what we see every day coming up in Seattle. I wanted to have something local and something international.”

Gordon and Crank also journeyed to the iHeart Media suite, hanging out and eating snacks just before puck drop. Plus, check out not one but two (!!!) correct final score predictions.
