Mariners fail to contain Yankees again, dropping series to New York
In their second loss in as many days, the Seattle Mariners were blown out by the New York Yankees as the Yankees took the series. A 10-2 win saw Mariners starter Logan Gilbert struggle, ending his outing in four innings while the Seattle bats were only able to push two runs across.
Santana two-run homer gives Mariners season series win over Yankees for first time since 2002
The Seattle Mariners, with a 4-3 win over the New York Yankees on August 10th, would win their first season series against the Bronx Bombers since 2002. The big win was highlighted by a solid outing pitching wise by Robbie Ray, a Sam Haggerty solo homer to break up a no hitter, and a go ahead homer by Carlos Santana to give the Mariners a lead they would never look back from.
