The hot start that wasn’t: Sounders split points with Timbers, Seattle won’t win Cascadia this season
With time running out on the MLS Regular season, the Seattle Sounders sense of urgency must remain high, and it looked as though they were minding that in the first half with a two-goal lead. Defensive lapses in the second half saw that lead wiped away, and points split with archrival Portland.
Sounders and Timbers play to tight draw in doubleheader
In the second ever edition of the Seattle vs Portland doubleheader, the Seattle Sounders splits points with their arch rivals, the Portland Timbers. Seattle continues to fail to finish the chances that they generated, while having to fight off a late push from the Timbers as the match got into the dying moments.
Sounders embarrassed at home in 3-0 loss to Timbers
In their July 9th matchup, the Seattle Sounders were embarrassed by the Portland Timbers in a three goal thrashing. Prior to the match, the Sounders unveiled their Concacaf Champions league victory banner in front of 47K fans at Lumen field.
