During the 2023 MLB All-Star game in Seattle, during the two plate appearances that Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani had, fans in the stands at T-Mobile Park loudly chanted “COME TO SEATTLE,” making it clear that they wanted to see the Japanese superstar in a Mariners uniform.

Seattle’s chances on the Shohei Sweepstakes: A tracker of where Ohtani may land this offseason/before the deadline 

The Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes are going to be a slippery slope no matter how you approach it, whether you’re trying to trade for him ahead of this years deadline (August 1st) or putting together a mammoth contract for him to sign this offseason. Either way, given the holes he can fill and the star power he would add to the Mariners, Seattle’s baseball franchise must put their best effort together in order to land the Japanese superstar.
