Tonight on HeartBeat with Cindi Bright: Mona Das and Jesse Johnson

Tonight on HeartBeat, Cindi Bright welcomes former Senator Mona Das and former Representative Jesse Johnson to the Black Media Matters Studio to discuss their experiences as elected officials and their successes and challenges within the legislative system.

They’ll discuss topics like what it’s like being an elected official of color, how they worked to get legislation introduced and passed, why did these officials choose not to re-run for office, and how the community responds and/or recruits others to step up into elected office.
