#FashionWeek - Takiyah Ward and Jay Martin Jr. take on Bellevue Fashion Week

By Takiyah Ward

It was an incredibly fashionable Friday earlier this month at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue as folks gathered for Fashion Week’s Posh Party Trend Show at the Bellevue Collection. The reception was packed as event-goers indulged in the 360 photo booth, cocktail bars and slew of vendors, from Lady Yum Macarons to In Spas On Site Manicures! Converge’s own Takiyah “T DUB” Ward and Jay Martin Jr. were there to catch all the looks for their first runway show experience.

Entering the showroom was like entering another world as lights and action completely enveloped you. Our VIP tables sat amidst the rectangular catwalk essentially making us a part of the show, and of course Converge’s resident fashionistas showed up and showed out in buttery leathers and muted tones. The presentation began with words from Terri Morgan, fashion producer for The Bellevue Collection, Lisa Chen CEO of Treehouse For Kids and host Tyrah Majors from KOMO 4 News. And then the show was underway!

The main stage featured larger than life LED screens which introduced each collection to the audience in a dazzling display. There were ten trends featured in this show so you can imagine how many looks came across the catwalk. Jay and I thoroughly enjoyed the colors, pieces and combinations from shops like Zara, Macy’s, Express, Banana Republic and J Crew, just to name a few. The best part about this show was that everything you saw was shoppable at The Bellevue Collection. Post show we were treated to some delectable desserts and aperitif before bidding Bellevue adieu. I think Jay and I are most certainly inspired by this season's looks and look forward to next year's show!
