#Vote - Crisis Care Centers Levy on Ballot in King County Tomorrow

“We have been experiencing a shadow pandemic. Whether it’s rising mental illness, record-breaking overdoses, alarming levels of substance use disorders, or our high school students feeling unprecedented levels of depression and anxiety, this is an issue that we have to address with urgency.” - King County Councilmember Girmay Zahilay.

Tomorrow, King County residents will vote on the Crisis Care Centers Levy. The Levy, which the County Council approved in February, seeks to provide individuals in crisis with spaces to go and resources so they can get the help they need to recover. Zahilay also says the Levy looks to increase the number of long-term recovery beds in the county.

“Part of the solution is giving people a place to go when they’re in crisis,” Zahilay said. “We also need to build out the workforce so we have people who are trained to take care of those in crisis.”

Ballots were mailed to voters, and in-person voting centers are open - you can find those locations here: http://ow.ly/JXVs50NQxv8
