Vladimir Guerrero Jr wins home run derby, defeats hometown favorite Julio Rodriguez in process 

The 2023 Home Run Derby sadly didn’t feature the Seattle storybook ending of Julio Rodriguez winning the crown in his own ballpark, making history along the way before falling to Toronto’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr in the semifinal round. Like every year, the derby was a great opportunity to see some of the young and bright stars of the game showcase their power, with a few surprises mixed into this years event.

Seattle’s chances on the Shohei Sweepstakes: A tracker of where Ohtani may land this offseason/before the deadline 

The Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes are going to be a slippery slope no matter how you approach it, whether you’re trying to trade for him ahead of this years deadline (August 1st) or putting together a mammoth contract for him to sign this offseason. Either way, given the holes he can fill and the star power he would add to the Mariners, Seattle’s baseball franchise must put their best effort together in order to land the Japanese superstar.

With three picks in round one, Mariners go with three high schoolers that have loads of upside to add to their farm system 

With their three selections within the first round of the MLB Draft on All-Star Sunday taking place at Lumen Field, the Seattle Mariners opted to go with “risky” selections of high schoolers that have boat loads of upside if developed properly. Seattle is banking on being able to do that, hoping that this draft is a big step for their future.

Storm can’t complete upset against Liberty in New York, Loyd suffers ankle sprain

In their third battle this season with the New York Liberty, the Seattle Storm once again fought hard all game long in a valiant attempt to upset one of the top teams in the WNBA, but ultimately could not get the closing moments late to go in their favor, partially in part to the fact that Jewell Loyd missed most of the quarter with a left ankle sprain.

Development camp scrimmage shows fast paced Seattle Kraken prospects 

Ahead of their third playing season in existence, the Seattle Kraken held development camp, an opportunity to see the prospect pool that the franchise is building through the draft and tryouts like this. To wrap up the five-day event, the Kraken held a scrimmage between two groups of the prospects in front of a packed crowd at Kraken Community Iceplex, where there was plenty of offense to witness, just like the teams NHL season displayed this past year.

Young Seattle Mariners centerfielder Julio Rodriguez will head to his second consecutive All-Star game, joining the American League roster as an Injury Replacement player for Houston Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez. While a rough start to the season made it seem impossible for Julio to be here, his upturn over the Spring and now Summer gets him into a second Midsummer Classic.

The Seattle Mariners closed out a series win against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, behind a strong third inning, patient plate appearances, and three lock-down innings from the bullpen. After a horrible series opener against the Rays, the Mariners were able to find their focus and take a series against the best team in baseball, at the time.

Sounders secure first victory since late May, Rusnak late winner the difference against Dynamo 

The Seattle Sounders were able to find themselves back in the win column for the first time since late May, snapping a goal drought at home of 405 minutes as Albert Rusnak's strike in the 67th minute from brilliant passing was the decider against the Houston Dynamo. A win that keeps them hanging at third place in the West, Seattle must use this result as a launching point for their attack the rest of the way.

Reign rumble back in final ten minutes to split points with Louisville in physical fight  

In the second match without their seven international players, the OL Reign had to battle back from a two-goal deficit to split points with visiting Racing Louisville FC. Despite the fact that the match ended in a draw, considering the way that the match played out and the resiliency displayed by the Reign, this feels more like a victory.
