Mariners hold on late, avoiding collapse, in 7-6 series opening win over Twins
To open their four game series against the Minnesota Twins, the Seattle Mariners survived a ninth inning scare with a 7-6 victory. Seattle’s 7 runs over three innings seemed like more than enough, but a three-run homer made things a bit tense with two outs in the top of the ninth.
