Ahshah Kennedy talks about her journey with the Life Enrichment Group

Meet Ahshah Kennedy, a Seattle native who began her journey with the Life Enrichment Group in 2019. During her time with the group, she was introduced to the vast opportunities available through higher education. Alongside other Black youth, Ahshah embarked on her first trip out of Washington to explore Historically Black Institutions along the East Coast. This eye-opening experience, filled with examples of Black excellence, inspired her to pursue higher education and deepen her studies.

Ahshah is a graduate of Franklin High School and currently a sophomore at the University of Washington, where she is studying Public Health and Informatics. She aspires to become a positive and active community leader. Involved in various extracurricular activities at the university, Ahshah is passionate about leadership, advocacy, wellness, and dance. Beyond her academic and extracurricular pursuits, she is a passionate foodie who enjoys concerts, meeting new people, and traveling. She hopes to travel the world and create impactful change within her community.

Ahshah stopped by The Day With Trae to discuss Dash For Education, the annual fundraising event for the Life Enrichment Group that supports African American youth throughout Seattle and King County. She shared insights about the event's goals, emphasizing the importance of providing educational opportunities and resources for Black youth. Ahshah highlighted how Dash For Education not only raises crucial funds but also fosters a sense of community and empowerment. The event features various activities designed to engage participants and donors alike, creating an environment where the collective effort can make a significant impact. By bringing attention to this initiative, Ahshah aims to inspire more community involvement and support for the educational aspirations of African American youth, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to succeed and thrive.
